The Concept of Optimist

Human lives are full of challenges and hardships. To overcome these hardships and challenges, one needs a positive mindset. Optimism is a positive attitude or confidence. Being optimistic is having a positive outlook and expecting the most favorable outcome. An optimist is a person who is generally optimistic. In other words, an optimist is a person who tends to be hopeful and confident about the future or the success of something. Optimists always have a mindset of positivity. They believe that "there is always tomorrow". They tend to see difficulties and hardships as opportunities for growth. If they make any mistakes, they focus more on what went right than what went wrong. They don't let failure or mistakes discourage them; instead, they turn mistakes into learning opportunities. And this leads them to have more opportunities than others.

The Concept of Optimist

Example of an optimist:

  1. Izuku and Kacchan went to a restaurant and ordered drinks for themselves. when the waiter brings out their drinks, he filled their glass halfway. Kacchan states that the glasses are half empty while Izuku states that the glass is half full. though both of them are right, here Izuku looked on the positive side of the situation. which means he is an optimist.
  2. It has been 3 years since Sazzat graduated. He can't find a job. On top of that, he is going through a financial crisis. Despite these hardships, He has confidence that tomorrow will be better and he will get a high-paying job.
  3. Sasuke lost his two legs in an accident. The doctor said that he can never use his legs again. Instead of imagining all the things he can't do with his legs. Sasuke is happy that he still has use of his hands and can continue to do many things.

Impact of being an optimist:

There is both a positive and negative impact on being optimistic. Sometimes being optimistic may help to move forward, but being too positive can be toxic.

 a. Positive impact of being an optimist:

It is good to be optimistic. They don't give up easily. Even in the face of hardships and challenges, they continue to work forward and achieve their goals. According to the analysis of psychologist Martin Seligman, optimist teams produced more positive synergy and performed better than others. They believe in themselves and their abilities, which is why they have less stress than others. Optimists always have an advantage in comparison to others because they don't lose hope easily. Studies show that optimists tend to have better physical health than others, including a 50% lower risk of cardiovascular disease and greater survival rates when fighting cancer.

b. Negative impact of being an optimist:

Positivity also has a negative side. In some ways, optimism can be harmful. Optimists often underestimate their risk of experiencing negative outcomes. which can increase the chance of having a bad outcome. Positivity is good, but too much positivity can be toxic. It might hurt others' emotions. It can hurt other people who are going through a hard time.

Focusing on the bright side of every event in life while still acknowledging the difficulties of life should be the goal of an optimist.
